Abstract | The authors state that opencast-minable apatite-nepheline ore reserves of the Khibiny deposit have largely been depleted and describe the state-of-theart, prospects and trends of the deep-level mining in terms of Joint Kirovsk Mine and Rasvumchorr Mine within Apatit JSC. The article reviews the schemes of opening-up and preparation of ore reserves for extraction, the systems of mining, their design parameters and structural components, technology and equipment employed in drivage and stoping, systems for ore/barren rock haulage and personnel transfer, ventilation and water drainage. Of interest are the cyclical-and-continuous technologies on a basis of ore crushing and conveying units, as well as extensive use of modern load-haul-dumpers, drilling installations and emulsion explosives. The main factors governing commissioning of new facilities instead of withdrawn capacities are illustrated. |
