Materials should be maximally light, characterized by high strength and very good ductility as well as acceptable in their price. New steels presented by ThyssenKrupp Steel Europe at the specialized seminar are very close to the ideal sample for lightweight constructions. Hot-deformed steels and combining the "soft" and "hard" Mn–B steels in laminating Tri-Bond material are observed. An-other composite material Litecor is recommended as aluminium alternative. New technical solutions in the fi eld of Zn–Mg coatings are also discussed.
