Реферат | On the basis of thermodynamic calculations of chlorination reactions of silica sand in compound with carbonaceous reducing agent and siliceous thermal additives, there were justified the performance parameters of shaft chlorinator, achieved in the course of experimental-industrial production of commercial silicon tetrachloride. Dispersed materials of anthropogenic origin (unconverted silicon, received due to organic silanes, and sludge, generated in the course of silicon carbide processing into grinding powders) are considered as thermal additives. If silicon and silicon carbide wastes are used as thermal additives, than theoretical calculated values of maximum (adiabatic) temperature in chlorination reaction zone equal to 2310 °C and 2230 °C, respectively. These values and thermal balance data of shaft chlorinators of similar design prove that temperature could reach approximately 1400 °C in the chlorination reaction localization zone. This value is in good agreement with the temperature dependence data of silica sand chlorination rate. Chlorination kinetics analysis of pellets with silicon carbide additive makes a conclusion that substantial intensification of chlorination process of silica sand-based pelletized charge is possible by means of temperature increase in reaction zone, and is related to chlorine supply increase and parallel design modification of chlorinator and condensation system. Chlorinator design improvement shall contribute to chlorine uniform distribution along the chlorinator cross-section, and condensation system shall provide the heat dissipation with intensity, corresponding to the chlorinator performance. |
