Abstract

The new power engineering policy starting in Germany can be successful only together with iron and steel industry. This report presented by Hans Jürgen Kerkhoff at the ESTAD steel conference in Paris includes criticizing of the central point of the new German power engineering policy, as well as the policy of European Commission in the field of power engineering and climate. The current project declared by the Federal Ministry of Economics concerning renewable power sources displays that additional payments for renewable power sources can be considered as danger for the industry. However, it is recommended to estimate that in the future the Federal Government should put into practice only the reasonable power engineering transformation and the payments have to be reserved and deindustrialization should be excluded. Additionally, it seems very important to analyze the consequences of European power engineering and climatic policy. It can be interesting also for thousands specialists in power-consuming industries and processing companies.
