The intensive research activities – like here in Dortmund – are geared towards these objectives. With all these factors we create a competitive edge for customers and strengthen their position in the market, whether in terms of cost efficiency, faster development times, sustainability or through new steels with specific property combinations. Steel is indispensable in any key industries already and other sectors that have used other materials in some areas have come back to steel in the end. There are good reasons for this: steel has clear advantages over other materials, steel is a green material and steel has a future.
