Abstract | In order to replenish depleted reserves and increase output of rich copper–nickel ore, the research has been undertaken toward estimating feasibility of additional stoping in the Х-1 (О) ore body area in Taimyrsky Mine with ore cutting by two fronts that go one after the other instead of the traditional stoping with two fronts advanced in opposite directions. In the complicated deep-level ground and mine-technical conditions of the Norilsk area deposits experiencing high rockburst hazard, the geomechanical estimation and forecasting of stress–strain state behavior of the ore body in time have been implemented for stoping with two successive fronts. The mathematical modeling yields the rates of stress growth with narrowing of the separation pillar between the stoping fronts; the stress–strain state forecasting maps are plotted for the period up to 2035, and the criteria of the ore body transition to post-limit deformation with support failure, including dynamic events, are determined. The research-based recommendations on continuous geomechanical monitoring and a set of rockbursting countermeasures have been included in the related project developed by Gipronickel Institute, in particular: enforced support of stopes within the separation pillar, advanced destressing drilling of increased diameter holes, etc. The participation of V. V. Zubkov, chief scientific officer of Center for Geodynamic Safety and problems of the mining industry of NMSU "Mountain". |
