Abstract

The steel seminar was devoted to discussion about innovative tools of HR policy and the new management methods for increase of competitiveness of iron and steel industry. Labour and health protection, influence of demographic situation, EC action plan for ferrous metallurgy, trade union strategy were also in the focus of discussion. Several strong features of iron and steel industry, providing its usual development, are listed: further social partnership, interaction between market and production policy, cooperation instead of confrontation, tariff obligations and fair salaries, high technological flexibility, creative approach in the field of employment policy.
