Abstract

The results of research of the corrosion destruction of the shell plating made of 09G2 steel in the area of the ice belt hulls are described. Composition, properties, advantages and disadvantages of 09G2 steel when used in shipbuilding are represented. The dependence between the rate of corrosive wear and age of a vessel in the area of the ice belt are identifi ed on the example of the series of project 301 (type «Pioneer»). The changes in the rule requirements of the Russian Maritime Register of Shipping to the appointment of allowances for wear when designing the shell plating in the ice belt are analyzed. The results presented in this article are based on years of observation, experience as well as scientific and research work performed at the Department of Shipbuilding and Ocean Engineering of Far Eastern Federal University (FEFU). The database of defect detection of ship hulls and marine structures are used in this paper. Processing results of defect detection on the investigated samples of vessels are produced for measurement of residual thickness of the shell plating in areas of ice belt. Maximum and average values of the wear rate on areas hulls are identified. The results of research can be used for development of scientific base and improvement of documents, for design and estimation states of technical conditions of the ship hull in the area of the ice belt.
