Abstract | Mixing and granulation of agglomerate in the metallurgical industry is very important and necessary operation with special requirements to the mixing technique. Agglomerate production in metallurgy is connected with strong material abrasivity of materials and their large volume. Large amounts of abrasive materials are subjected to process every day. It is known that conventional systems are characterized by simple maintenance but they are restricted in mixing quality and grain distribution. Thereby, they can't be used for processing of ultra-fine ore and iron ore concentrate. In this connection, the intensive mixers and granulating machines that can provide excellent mix quality and optimal penetration, can be considered as the interesting alternative. They also can increase capacity, productivity and efficiency of the agglomeration machine. The experience of the company Gebr. Lödige Maschinenbau GmbH is generalized and it is shown, how high mixing quality, ultimate wear protection and especial comfort of technical maintenance are realized in the large scale. The company has manufactured the mixer KM 57 000 SIN for the Indian metallurgical plant; this mixer is the largest one during the company's 75 year history — it has 11 m length and 60 t weight. |
