At present time, the quality requirements to iron ore concentrate increase permanently due to depletion of reserves of rich iron-bearing ores and high competition at the iron ore global market. Iron ore producers are forced to upgrade their technological routes. Different ore types have different mineral composition and texture-structural features, and this fact stipulates necessity of usage of different methods and technologies for their concentration. The paper presents the results of optimization of flotation concentration of hematite ores via the method of mathematical experiment planning. The effect of various flotation parameters on quality of iron ore concentrate and Fe extraction in this concentrate has been examined in laboratory conditions. The following independent parameters have been chosen during experiments on matrix of the central rotatable uniform planning of the 2nd level: collector concentration, impeller rotation speed and air consumption.
