Abstract |
Reduction of sulphide ore reserves in the Urals sets a task for plants, concluded in maintaining the achieved processing capacity and providing highly remunerative production in Ural factory towns. For the purpose of raw resources expansion, Russian Copper Company actively involves such small deposits into processing, that have not been mined due to process or economic reasons. Vesennee deposit, situated at the border of Russia and Kazakhstan, is considered to be one of these deposits. Working out an agreement between Russian Government and Kazakhstan Government on drawing the Vesennee deposit into economic activities and preparation for signing the agreement gave the opportunity to sign the agreement and implement the project of the Vesennee deposit processing in the future. During the project implementation, a special attention was paid to efficient processing of copper and zinc sulphide ore with opportunity to achieve high quality and quantity rates without essential reconstruction and modernization of the existent processing plant Ormet. A great number of research works resulted in recommendations for flow diagram and reagents that allowed to maintain the estimated output of the plant and extract copper concentrate at copper grade of 17–19% and extraction level of 92% and zinc concentrate at zinc grade of 49–50% at extraction level of 66–70%. R. F. Khamidulina, T. V. Pronkina and A. A. Biksiitova were the participants in this work. |
