Abstract

Our research was carried out on the methods of increasing the resource usage efficiency associated with extraction and processing of gold deposits. New data was obtained, researching mineral opening and distribution of minerals and gold phase associations over the size classes in ferrous metallurgy. The optimal parameters of gold-containing pyritic product of non-ferrous metals were defined for hydrometallurgical technology development. We also developed the conditions for isolation of opened gold-containing pyrite, intergrowed with copper sulfides in the intercycled operations of gravitation and flotation. Raw sulfides example showed that gold extraction during gravitation, flotation and cyanidation is mainly influenced by the gold phase composition, the ratio of free gold and intergrowths, the development of granulometric composition of gold particles and their geometric forms, and the presence of the surface oxide films on gold grains. The extraction of gold has been noticed to depend on the pyrite contained in the parent ore and on the quantitative distribution of gold-containing pyrite through flotation products. The analysis of the worldwide practical researches of gold pyrite ores and polymetallic concentrates showed that flotation, gravitation and cyanidation containing technologies tend to be the most applicable. With the research on many types of pyrite ores in Russian Federation, new processing schemes including flotation and cyanidation of calcined pyrite products separated in different cycles of processing were developed and recommended.
