Experimental data for the process of continuous forming tube skelps (TS) have been presented. A physical experiment was carried out to determine the TS contact prints with a roll tool for the 50 mm diameter pipe with the 1.5 mm thick wall at the 30–50 electric pipe-welding unit (TESA). The 09G2S steel sheet blank was used as an experimental sample. TS was formed in the section of open stands (OS) with a rectilinear lower generating trajectory. A review of the method to determine the contact interaction showed that the boundaries of the contact of upper and lower rolls with the TS have a straightforward character. A schematic diagram of the experiment to determine the TS contact areas with the TESA forming rolls is presented. According to experimental data, the parameters of contact prints in the stands of the forming section were determined. It was established that the boundaries of contact prints are curved. The areas of backward and forward slips of the contact prints that affect the kinematic and energy parameters were determined. By areas, the ratios of pulling forces were determined. Comparison of the results of energy-power parameters obtained by calculation and experimental methods showed that the pulling force indices determined experimentally are by 10–15 % lower than the calculated ones.
