Abstract |
Taking into consideration general trends in the development of European heavy plate market in the segment of shipbuilding and offshore constructions, new variants of chemical composition and technology are developed for production of low carbon microalloyed steel grades D36, D40 and D420 in thickness up to 55 mm in normalized rolled (+NR) delivery condition. Discussed steel grades are actively used in manufacturing of cruise liners. The research results allowed NLMK DanSteel to pass certification tests according to IACS rules and confi rm the quality of heavy plates in accordance to requirements of DNV-GL, RINA and other maritime certification societies. |
