Abstract | The first half of the article considers features of modern trends in the development of society, education and the mining and metallurgical industry in Russia. Questions were raised about enhancing the prestige of miners and metallurgists, engineering education in general, development prospects of the mining and metallurgical industry, implementation of digital technologies. The assessment of the domestic education system’s readiness to current challenges is given. The features of evolution of federal educational standards for higher education and their demands, methods of the formation of control figures for enrollment in higher education programs and their distribution among majors are considered. |
