Tubes are widely used in fuel and power industry, in machine-building, in municipal engineering, in agriculture. At present time, production facilities for steel tubes are located in 60 countries in the framework of more than 500 companies. This paper observes actual development problems and tendencies in tubemaking. The most important problems arising before tube manufacturers are presented. Up-to-date technologies for production of seamless tubes via hot and cold rolling are presented.
