The methodology for monitoring the dust concentration in the air environment of the zone under the direct influence of metallurgical production is considered. The demonstrated method is effective for determining various fractions of pollution caused by man-made and natural causes. The method is based on the particle sedimentation law, also known as the Stokes law, which describes the motion of solid particles in a gaseous or liquid medium. In the practical part of the work, calculationsof the rate and total time of sedimentation of aerosol inclusions and the concentration of the latter in the sedimentation area are given, with the zones of these concentrations plotted on geographical maps (schemes) for clarity and convenience in working with the information received. Materials for analysis, wind load in the region, the amount of dust emitted from the enterprise, the chemical and fractional composition of dust are taken from open sources and literature. The issues of migration of fine particles of various sizes under the influence of external atmospheric factors are considered. An estimated calculation of concentrations of solid particles in the air in the zone of influence of a metallurgical facility was carried out using the example of blast furnace No. 4 of PJSC Novolipetsk Iron and Steel Works. This calculation model enables to assess the dust load from the enterprise to the regions of influence, evaluate the risks of exceeding concentrations and take measures to modernize, optimize the production process or aspiration systems. |
