Chernye Metally
The "Chernye Metally" journal No. 9-2022 was published, which is mainly dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the chair for Metal Technology and Aviation Materials Science of the Samara National Research University named after S.P. Korolev. The jubilee collection contains a historical article, as well as the main developments of the chair's specialists, telling about the study of transverse cracks in a welded joint of the main gas pipeline, about causes of wear and destruction of the working tool made of Kh12MF steel, as well as the effect of long-term thermal cycling loads on changes in properties and structure of SCh20 cast iron.
The number is headed by "Agglomeration" section. Specialists of JSC "Tulachermet" considered increasing the strength of the sinter by improving the charge pelletization by adding polymer binders. In the same section, the authors from St. Petersburg Mining University presented a review of scientific and technical literature on the use of petroleum coking additives as a partial replacement for scarce coking coals.
As usual, the journal presents articles on challenges of metallurgy and physics of metals, which touched upon the issues of the influence of long-term operation on changes in the structure of a heat-resistant alloy using the example of a pipe of a pyrolysis furnace coil, on non-contact deformation during pendulum surface plastic deformation of structural steel, and also on the role of carbonitrides in the formation of austenite grains during hot rolling of pipe steel.
The section on environmental issues is of interest. I. V. Butorina and M. V. Butorina considered the best available technologies to reduce noise in the iron and steel industry, which is the cause of 30% of occupational diseases in the industry. In another article by NUST MISiS specialists, using the example of a blast furnace at PJSC NLMK, a unique method for calculating and building a three-dimensional model is presented for maximum assessment and prediction of danger in the external zone of the enterprise`s influence.
The same issue publishes congratulations to Nikolai Nikolaevich Gugis, the President of the IPO Association of Rollermen, on his 80th birthday, which comes out on the eve of the next congress of rollermen in Moscow in October.
