The authors aimed at the analysis of the morphology and evolution of the structure and geodynamics in the Eastern Arctic area. It is found that the plate tectonics of the basement in the section of the Eastern Arctic governs the vertical tectonic level structure defined by some indirect signs from the interpretation of seismic exploration data and other geophysical surveys. A huge amount of work connected with ground seismics is performed in the southern (Novosibirsk) depression of the East Siberian Sea in the Russian sector of the Chukotka Sea. The Eastern Arctic water areas are greatly interesting in terms of hydrocarbon resources; on the other hand, appraisal of the hydrocarbon potential of the areas is heavily complicated due to geophysical understudy of the locality and owing to lack of exploration boreholes. In such conditions, the method of analogies is often used. For the Eastern Arctic, the analogy is the reservoirs of the Alaska North Slopes.
