Abstract

To determine the prospects for the development of the coal industry of the Donetsk People’s Republic, it is necessary to have objective information on the state of both the raw material and production base of coal mining enterprises. For this purpose, an analysis of the main production and technical and economic indicators of the work of the mines of the Ministry of Coal and Energy of the Donetsk People’s Republic’s was conducted. The current state of the mining industry in the mines was assessed and their potential for the future was determined. Based on the results of the analysis of the main indicators of the enterprises' work, the prospects for their development in the future were determined. To develop the coal industry of the Donetsk People's Republic, it is essential to establish a foundation for equipping coal enterprises exclusively with advanced technologies and machinery, as well as innovative scientific and technical solutions, to address challenges related to intensifying coal extraction, ensuring industrial safety, and managing rock mass behavior. Achieving this requires revitalizing the industry's scientific and technical infrastructure by integrating sectoral research institutes into the management system for mine innovation; training specialized scientific personnel; enhancing the scientific and technical information system; and strengthening the material resources supporting industry partnerships.
