The reasons for the destruction of the lining plate of the GF2PGC300 model crusher, made of Mn18Cr6 steel using gasified casting technology (LGM), are considered. The studies included visual and fractographic fracture analysis, chemical composition determination, microstructural studies, and hardness measurement. It was found that the main causes of the destruction were manufacturing defects: the presence of cracks at the junctions of the spikes with the plate and shrinkage porosity in the core of the part, which arose due to the peculiarities of the model manufacturing technology and insufficient nutrition of the casting during crystallization. Taking into account the high viscosity of Hadfield steel at the casting stage during LGM, significant dissolution of gases from the destruction of the expanded polystyrene model is possible, followed by the formation of pores during the release of dissolved gases under the conditions of crystallization of the casting. These defects contributed to stress concentration and crack development, which led to premature plate failure. Based on the analysis, recommendations are given for improving casting technology and quality control to prevent similar failures in the future. Taking into account the fact that crushers usually operate in hard-to-reach areas and in the Far North, where unplanned failure is associated with long waiting times and significant financial costs for transportation of repair teams and spare parts, as well as financial losses of operating enterprises due to downtime of crushing and mining equipment, preventing the causes of failure The failure of crushing equipment parts and the improvement of operational reliability is highly relevant. The work is applied in nature and is aimed at improving the operational reliability of wear-resistant parts of crushing equipment made of Hadfield steel and its analogues.
