Abstract

The paper considers vibratory technological processes and machines used in the mining industry for transportation, crushing, grinding, and classification of minerals. The high energy consumption of such machines operating in super-resonant modes is noted; this is associated with the need to use drive motors with excessive installed power. To improve the energy efficiency of vibratory machines, it is proposed to use a resonant mode of excitation of the working body oscillations. The main problems associated with the implementation of the resonant mode in oscillatory systems with a variable mass of the processed material are considered, including changes in the conditions of self-synchronization of vibration exciters and the influence of bulk material motion on the dynamics of the working body. An approach to automated control of the working body oscillations based on monitoring the phase shift between the exciting force and the working body oscillations is proposed. To take into account the interaction between the working body and granular material, a mathematical model is used that combines a discrete element description of the bulk medium, a model of an elastically supported working body, and a model of an unbalance vibration exciter with an induction motor. The results of mathematical modeling of the vibratory machine dynamics coupled with the processed material, as well as experimental tests of a laboratory prototype, are presented. It is shown that the use of resonant oscillations makes it possible to reduce energy consumption by up to 30% compared with the super-resonant mode.
