Abstract
Advanced ultra-high-strength steels and now also first steel composites offer a wide range of cost-efficient, ecological solutions for lightweight auto design that help resolve the conflict between the sustainable use of resources and the need for mobility. Together with new processing methods such as tailored tempering and the development of innovative vehicle concepts, they deliver a major contribution to making cars lighter, greener and more fuel-efficient.
