Abstract | Separation of oxide inclusions as well as homogeneous and exact temperature in steelmaking ladles is aided by the process of rinsing immediately before casting in the turret of the continuous caster. A new measurement system, based on thermographic imaging and digital image processing, guarantees appropriately close limits of the gas stirring intensity during rinsing. In industrial operation, the new measurement system considerably improved the reproducibility of the stirring process. |
