The general characteristic of raw materials base of black and brown coals at Zabaikalye Territory, their confirmed reserves and resources have been done. The data about the largest exploited and prospective deposits, resources, coals quality and their usage have been adduced. It has been shown unconventional for Russia directions of coal usage at Transbaikal, their methane saturation, germanium presence in individual coal grades etc.
