Abstract

Nowadays atomic generation is mostly based on uranium, while only a small amount of thorium and plytonium (so-called MOX-fuel) is used. In the nearest future a lot is about to change: in February 2010 the Federal Target Programme “Nuclear Energy Technology of the New Generation”, which is aimed at providing new technological platform for atomic energy within the next decade, was adopted in Russia.
