Abstract | Chinese steel producer Maanshan Iron & Steel Company Ltd. (Masteel) operates a CSP plant made up of two individual thin slab casters and one seven-stand hot strip mill. With liquid core reduction LCR plus, a dynamic thickness reduction of 1 to 35 mm selected by the operator or the production planning system becomes possible. The results now available for LCR plus show that a 35 mm thickness reduction with LCR plus in segments 1 and 2 is suitable for maintaining excellent slab geometry and internal microstructure in the thin slab. |
