Abstract | The formation of a spatially ordered optical structure with an ultrasonically modulated refraction index in photonic crystals is discussed. We show that standing ultrasonic wave excitation produces a structure consisting of separate light paths which is the superlattice of the «dynamic photonic crystal». Potential applications of these structures are discussed. |
