Abstract

Requirements to the level of the professional competence in economics and management of the qualified personnel for the mining industry are described. Authors estimate quality of graduatеs’ education which was given to them by modern high schools along with demand of the North-West region and Murmansk area in particular in highly skilled administrative personnel. As a result, it is stated that the need in managers of the mining industry can be provided by specialists with higher education training in various economics and management related spheres on the base of their practical experience and knowledge. Qulity of education largely depends on the teachers’ competence level which should be regularly raised as well as new training technologies are to be used for the teaching. Combination of theoretical and practical training allows graduates to receive necessary skills to became more competitive at the labour market.
