Abstract | To study dynamic processes in a flat layer of liquid cathode aluminium, a semiempirical set of equiations was elaborated. The equation of the current function was derived and solved numerically using the Galerkin method. To study time dynamics of a two-dimensional interaction via the method of finite differences, solution of a system of the vector differential Navier–Stokes equiations noted in the current function and vorticity variables, was fulfilled. Explicit two-layer scheme with central differences on space variables was used. Current function and vorticity fields at the initial moment were set based on the initial solution obtained by spectral decomposition. Numerical and previously conducted experimental researches confirm that the large-scale four- and two-vortical structures of vorticity interaction are the least stable of those formed by powered magnetohydrodynamic impact and affecting process functioning. Auto-oscilating and instability were numerically obtained by use of a specially developed software. Methods of processes stabilisation due to varying technological parameters were studied. |
