The history of creation and development of mine "Zapolyarnyi" of mining-metallurgical industrial plant «Norilsk nickel» is presented. The mineral-raw-material base of mine presented by sulphidic copper-nickel ores of a deposit Norilsk-1, systems of opening of the deposit, management of mining pressure, the ventilation and water outflow organization are considered. Prospects of the further production modernization are noted.
