Abstract The issue of feed size effect estimation in autogenous and semi-autogenous mills designing and modeling is considered. Apparatuses and devices that are known to be used in the industry for particle size analysis, generated by means of impact and attrition methods, are described. The experimental results of energy consumption estimation in grinding and formulas for disintegration energy calculation are presented.
