Abstract | The paper presents the results of development of the technology for fabrication of the magnesium alloy of new generation for usage in die casting of automotive components. The technique for preparing high-silicon alloying composition on aluminium base, with joint manganese content 7–9 %, is presented. The limits of assimilation of the data of refractory elements in aluminium melt are determined. The process of dissolution of alloying composition in the bath with raw magnesium is studied, the degree of assimilation of silicon, manganese and other elements in the alloy is determined. Technological procedures for fabrication of the alloy with preset composition in commercial scale are developed. |
