Abstract | The electric arc furnace supplied to Icdas Biga steel plant in Turkey was the first Concast Ultra High Chemical power (UHCP) EAF and required innovative solutions in design, construction and operation of the furnace. After three years of success and really outstanding performance, the Icdas group decided to build a parallel meltshop and to order a new furnace, designed to the technical evolution of the EAF No. 1 able to reach a total yearly production of at least 2.3 million t. |
