Abstract The combustion of CO and CO2 contains a considerable energy potential which can be utilized for scrap melt down if the reaction takes place inside the furnace. For an optimal efficiency of this chemical energy input, the control of post-combustion oxygen based on an on-line off-gas analysis system is required.
