Abstract
Semi-permanent continuous sensors are the industrial standard for continuous casting. Thermocouple-based measurement is most common. Thermocouple reliability and accuracy are still unmatched and require almost zero maintenance. This paper presents a comparison of today's industrial systems in respect to cast and technical performance.
