Abstract
In April 2005, the upgraded blast furnace “G” of Tata Steel was blown in after a four-months shutdown in which it was rebuilt on the existing foundation. The project covered the stockhouse, top charging system, furnace cooling system, casthouse, slag granulation, PCI, blast system, and gas cleaning, to cope up with the changed operating conditions. The project development and a summary of operating results are presented.
