Abstract | VDEh-Betriebsforschungsinstitut and Mannstaedt GmbH have examined different lubricants regarding environmental and tribological properties to increase service capability of grooved work rolls. Finally an oil free lubricant has been selected. Industrial trials on several profiles have been performed with this oil free lubricant. Groove life time for a single profile type has increased by over 80 % as well as product surface quality. Environmental impact to oily lubricants compared is lower. |
