Abstract | The capacity of continuous casting plants for conventional formats such as slabs, blooms, billets and beam blanks will continue to grow during ther next years. Also the plant capacities of the newer casting processes are likely to grow in the future. Production of ultra-clean steels with excellent internal and surface qualities, development of new steel grades, zero-defect strategies and quality assurance systems combined with high productivity levels and high flexibility are the requirements of the future. |
