Abstract | Special experiments have been undertaken at the 5-stand rolling mill 630 of Magnitogorsk Metallurgical Works; they were directed on revealing of relationship between widening and wedging in cold rolling of narrow band. These experiments have displayed essential influence of cross section wedging on widening. Absolute and relative widening made 1.8–2.2 mm and 0.53–0.62 % respectively during rolling of billets with initial wedging 0.11– 0.20 mm; it increased widening during rolling of billets with symmetric cross section by 5–6 times. It is shown that widening has positive effect on rolling precision and helps to decrease wedging. Determined lowering of relative wedging has occupied the range between 0.57–6.2 and 0–0,44 % (for absolute wedging these figures constituted the range between 0.0275–0.2 and 0–0.07 mm). |
