Mineral raw material sources are the general sector of Kazakhstan economics and the real base of development all industrial production. Significant power supplies have been established in the Republic for processing important types of mineral raw materials, such as ores of iron, manganese, chrome, copper, lead, zinc, uranium, bauxites, and other Republic valuable components, which allows not only provide intestinal necessities of the Republic, but also exported a large part of marketable products. Kazakhstan is one of the world leader in area of amount and variety of mineral raw material sources. The Republic has unique resources of ferrous, non-ferrous, precious metals and energy feedstocks. Also, mineral resources of the country include phosphorites, barytes, fiber rocks, kaolin, potassium salts and other types of ore and non-metallic materials. The paper describes short characteristics on mineral sources of Kazakhstan, and prospects of its development have been considered.
