“Kazakhmys” Corporation is the largest copper producer in Kazakhstan and includes in the ten largest producers in the world. Group of Kazakhstan’s enterprises, containing 20 quarries and underground mines, 10 benefication plants, zinc plant and two copper melting complexes, and also coal reserves and electric power plants, has been included in content of “Kazakhmys” Corporation. Besides production of copper in concentrate and refined copper, enterprises of the corporation obtain zinc, silver and gold. The paper describes technological characteristics of extraction, ore benefication, copper and coproducts production. The prospects of further the corporation development have been presented, the problems of social responsiveness, environment protection and subsurface management have been considered.
