Abstract | Packings of roll bearings of rolling mills operate in hard conditions. Often they are characterized with insufficient efficiency what leads to essential leaks of lubricating materials, lowering of loading capacity of bearings as a result of contamination of lubricants and — as a result — to emergency shutdowns. This paper considers the main problems of rise of efficiency and competitiveness of observed packing devices: development of rational construction of a packing seals and choice of anti-friction material with highest tribo-technical parameters for their fabrication. It is shown that degree of development of se condary structures on each of investigated sections depends on materials participated in the process of their forming as well as on intensity of friction process and its duration. The most efficient combination of anti-friction and lubricating material for preset conditions has been revealed. Smooth dark protective film is recognized to be the most resistant secondary structure provi ding the required anti-friction properties with maximal efficiency. It is concluded that polyurethane packing seals (e.g. nano-zinc and babbit B83) have relation of price/guaranteed service terms higher by 1.5– 2.0 times higher comparing with other packing materials (including packing materials manufactured by foreign producers). |
