Abstract

Analysis of the results of the existing scheme of refining copper-molybdenum-pyrite product at the processing plant «Company of Erdenet» showed that the direction of intermediate products in the head of this operation leads to a destabilization of the process due to the sharp fluctuations in volume and density of the pulp. This is reduces the efficiency of copper-molybdenum flotation. The copper content in the tailings of scavenger flotation varies from 0.4% to 1.2% (mX = 0.604, δx = 0.169), and molybdenum — from 0.05% to 0.35% (mX = 0.17, δx = 0.05). It is established that the change in volume of the pulp from 200 m3/hr to 400 m3/hr leads to an increase in duration of flotation from 25 minutes to 50 minutes. And increase circulation (to the solid) from 13% to 30%, reduces the recovery of copper and molybdenum, respectively, at 4% and 20%. In addition circulation leads to a decrease of copper content in the head of this operation by 17–20% and increased molybdenum сontent of 40–50% (relative). One possible way to improve the performance the rough concentrate finishing circuit is reducing the influence of the circulating load due to the organization of individual intermediate products cycle. The results of comparative experiments under the new scheme have shown an increase in copper and molybdenum recovery in the main flotation respectively at 2.2% and 33%. Industrial tests of the circuit with an open intermediateproducts cycle confirmed its effectiveness. Compared with existing scheme recovery copper has increased by 1.0–1.5%, molybdenum — more than 2 times. In carrying out industrial tests were carried out research to clarify the mode of reagent.
