Abstract | Method of high-temperature measure of VISCOSITY of chemically active slags of “copper oxide — wustite — silica – calcium oxide” system is developed. Experimental studies has been concluded in order to determine slag’s viscosity with high contain of copper (9.7–27.2%) in 1200–1400 оC temperature interval. Researches show, that viscosity’s value of researching synthetic slags has inreverse dependence with copper concentration. High-copper slags, which are in the lime concentration range from 7 to 10% have the least viscous (0.1–0.4 Pa·s at 1250 оС). At the temperatures higher than 1300 оС the interval of compositions with lower viscosity widens to copper contain of 10–15%. Temperature parameters of crystallization’s beginning as for cindery melt of researching compositions have been determined. Temperature of crystallization’s beginning of slag melt’s components decreases with increasing of copper content in slags, and reaches 1170 оC at the 27% copper concentration. Regression equals has been obtained, which describe synthetic slag melt’s viscosity depended on copper concentration (10–27%) and temperature (1200–1400 оС), and allow to calculate slag’s dynamic viscosity with pinpoint accuracy. Obtained data are topical for developing continuous converting technology of copper matte via Vanukov’s process. |
