Abstract | In 1993 the mining and geological computer technologies laboratory was developed in “Yakutniproalmaz” Institute in order to computer modeling methods developing. At that time, in Russia, modelling with using mining and geological areas software was in a limited extent. Practical operational experience, methods, theoretical evidence were lacked. Nevertheless, already in 1996, the Institute together with the company De Beers held a joint quest for kimberlite bodies models creating: South African BK-9 and West Irkutsk province “Sitikanskaya” tube. In addition to deposit modeling, together with the specialists of De Beers were developed the early stages of simulation and opencast mine parameters optimization under raw data indeterminacy and geological risk conditions. In whole, for the period of laboratory existence geological and mathematical models of the ore bodies and diamonds gravel deposits creation methodology were developed for the practical application of established models at the stage of feasibility study, design and planning of mining and geological works. New approaches application, using the developed models made it possible to cut the work periods and provided an opportunity to consider a large number of versions at every stage, and, as a result — to determine the most rational scheme of opening and fine-tuning order of diamonds deposit. The distribution estimate modeling of useful components in ore body is especcially effective during the design and planning of mining works in the allocation of ore areas (blocks) with differentiated composition of ores with different lithological varieties. The main task of the block modeling is the faithful representation of raw materials quality, stocks of deposits, its borders and the internal structure. This aim is achieved using various interpolation methods. |
