Abstract | One of base kinds of the fertilizers used in agriculture is potash, made mainly from potash-magnesium salts (PМS). In the USSR manufacture of potash fertilizers was carried out in Russian Soviet Federal Socialist Republic, Belarus and Ukraine. Only potash industrial complexes in the Russian Federation (Uralkaliy) and Belarus (Belaruskaliy) are operating now. At the same time, potential of possibility of use the raw-material base of Ukraine takes the special place deserving special consideration. Ukraine has great source of potassium-magnesium salts, included sulphate salts with unique composition, useful for high-quality without chloride fertilizer production. It has reserving structures of enterprises that had previously operated efficiently in potassium production branch of industry. The prospects of reconstruction of the industry for potassium fertilizers and other products, it is necessary to take into account integration on markets at CIS and other countries. In the territory of Ukraine there are three potash salts basins: Predkarpatsky, Donetsky and Dneprovsko-Donetsky. Balance stocks are concentrated in Predkarpatsky basin. The basic precondition of restoration and development of the potash industry of Ukraine includes two factors: unique material structure of potash salts adjournment (prevalence of sulphatic salts) and rather considerable stocks of ores. Preliminary marketing studies testify that high-grade potash fertilizers, and also accompanying magnesium and other kinds of products can have introduction prospects in the markets not only of the CIS countries. |
