Abstract | Reduction of the weight of Pt/Rh-alloy glass-melting devices and bushings, used for the production of continuous fiberglass and basalt fibers by two-stage and single-stage methods, is one of the real ways to increase the production efficiency. SIC “Supermetal” offers a complex approach to the development of new designs of glass-melting devices and bushings. Instead of a just another design, SIC “Supermetal” offers a complex engineering specifications for the new glassmelting devices and bushings, current lead terminals, underorifice coolers, as well as the recommendations for the assembly events. The features of the technological lines have been taken into account. The development of the manufacturing technology of the unified fully molded bushing plates with a packed element of conic spinnerets and perforated screens (over 1000 apertures) made it possible to offer a new direction in the construction of economical small glass-melting devices and bushings. The spinnerets and screens are made from the heatproof and the heat-resistant age hardened material. The long-term commercial operation of the small-sized glass-melting devices shows that the greatest effect of introduction of the above glass-melting devices can only be achieved if technological discipline is observed.
