Abstract |
Results of researches by a radiating estimation of hydrometallurgical technologies of mineral raw material of the Kola region, developed in ICTREMRM of KSC RAS are presented. Researches have shown, that rare-metal the raw material of the Kola region is characterized by a high degree of a radioactivity which is connected to the increased contents natural radionuclides numbers of uranium-238 and thorium-232. At hydrometallurgical processing raw material radionuclides can collect in intermediate and end-products, creating radiationdangerous sites. Therefore by development of technologies of mineral raw material it is necessary to study distribution radionuclides in technological processes. As a result of long-term researches distribution of a total radioactivity and radionuclides has been studied at various versions of hydrometallurgical processing mineral raw material: apatite, perovskit, loparit, sfen, etc. Possibility of clearing of valuable metals from radionuclides and radioactivety — safety use of some technological waste and by-products of hydrometallurgical technologies is shown. Recycling of chemically aggressive radioactive waste which are formed at hydrometallurgical processing mineral raw material, is an actual problem. Key parameters and radioactive waste streams, which arise from processing radioactive raw material, are studied. It is established, that the specific radioactivity of the RW may exceed 109 Bk/kg, and the total radioactivity will make 2.3.1012 Bk/year. Recommendations concerning radiation safety are made, which are necessary to consider when designing and building radioactive waste storages on the territory of the Kola region. |
