Abstract | The present investigation is devoted to complex processing of refractory sulfide ores and concentrates from Sukhoy Log deposit containing gold and platinum group metals. The gravitational sulfide-schist concentrate was leached in autoclave at 200 oС and oxygen pressure 700 kPa. The recovery of gold was 74–95%, platinum — 82–88%. Noble metals were in the form of stable complex compounds: H[AuCl4], H2[PtCl6], H2[PdCl4], H3[AgCl4]. The sorption recovery of noble metals in the form of complex chlorides was carried out from salts mixture solution (FeCl3, CuCl2, NaCl and HCl), containing, mg/L: 25 Au; 5 Pt; 5 Pd; 10 Ag, on weak basic anion exchanger Purolite S 990. The resin quantities were stirred with solution during 20 hours. After sorption, the resin was washed with distilled water, to purify it from complex ions of iron. Then noble metals were desorbed by mixed solution of sodium sulfite and sodium nitrite at 50 оС over a period of 4 hours. The ratio resin:solution was 1:25 during elution. It was shown that gold and silver are desorbed in the form of sulfite complexes, whereas platinum and palladium — as nitrite complexes remaining in solution. After acidification of the eluate, gold and silver were isolated in the form of solid metal precipitate, which contains about 100% of these metals. Platinum and palladium are recovered by cathode precipitation, the precipitate contains about 70% Pt and Pd. |
